Actress Gal Gadot revealed in an Instagram post she was diagnosed with a “massive blood clot” in her brain during her recent pregnancy that required emergency surgery after the birth of her child.
The “Wonder Woman” star, 39, said she learned about the condition in February during the eighth month of her pregnancy after suffering from “excruciating headaches that confined [her] to bed” for extended periods.
An MRI revealed the potentially life-threatening problem.
“All I wanted was to hold on and live,” she wrote. “We rushed to the hospital, and within hours, I underwent emergency surgery. My daughter, Ori, was born during that moment of uncertainty and fear.”
“As we celebrate Hanukkah, a holiday of light and miracles, I reflect on the personal miracle I was granted. My daughter, Ori, is a constant reminder of resilience, hope, and the strength we carry within,” she added.”“My wish is that we all find our light, experience our own miracles, and continue to advocate for our health and for one another.”
She also thanked the staff at Los Angeles’ Cedars Sinai Medical Center for their “dedicated care.”
“Today, I am fully healed and filled with gratitude for the life I’ve been given back,” she wrote.
Gadot had previously made reference to a difficult pregnancy after announcing the birth of Ori in March.
“The pregnancy was not easy and we made it through,” she captioned an Instagram post earlier this year.
Gadot and husband Jaron Varsano share four children: Ora, Alma (born in 2011), Maya (2017) and Daniella (2021).
