LOWNDES CO., Miss. (WLBT/Gray News) – A woman in Mississippi who was on home oxygen died after losing power during recent severe weather.
Coroner Greg Merchant says the 68-year-old woman lost electrical power due to the storm in the area and had limited oxygen.
The victim called 911 at 12:40 a.m. Sunday.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they found her unresponsive outside of her car.
Officials said the woman had a long medical history and was on home oxygen daily.
The victim will be identified when all family members have been notified.
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said that a total of 10 people received injuries and two people died due to the weekend’s severe storms.
Over the weekend, over 100,000 customers were without power across Southwest and Central Mississippi.
