The world was plunged into grief in 2018 upon the announcement that the renowned DJ and producer had taken his own life while vacationing in Muscat, Oman.

The celebrity was pivotal in propelling electronic music into the mainstream charts, achieving global acclaim with hits like “Levels” and “Wake Me Up.”

Now, six years after his passing, a fresh documentary titled “Avicii: I’m Tim,” which delves into his life through his own narrative, has debuted on Netflix today (Tuesday 31 December).

As the audience settles in to watch the exclusive documentary, his admirers have flocked to Reddit to discuss their most cherished tracks as his influence endures.

A new thread emerged on the platform titled ‘What is your favourite Avicii song? And why?’ prompting fans to eagerly post their thoughts.

One user reminisced: “Levels because that started it all for me. Walked down to that song at my wedding and got the entire wedding lit.”

Echoing the sentiment, another enthusiast added: “Levels purely because it established the “Avicii” image… Also I love the progression, can listen to that on loop..”

Another suggested: “Wake Me Up- it was huge summer 2013 when I started my senior year of college. We listened to it non stop.”

And yet another Reddit contributor shared: “The Days – everything I’ve been through good or bad this song has always got me through it. It touches my soul in a way no other music ever has.”

One user expressed their affection for the artist’s work, saying: “Sunset Jesus, just love every part of the song. Great melody, vocals and arrangement. The song just always makes me feel happy and relaxed.”

Another fan praised a different track: “For A Better Day- absolutely love this song, the vocals are unreal and the production and chord progressions are too good. It just sounds so cohesive. I love the crunchy sounding piano.”

Swedish DJ Avicii soared to global stardom back in 2011 with his massive hit single ‘Levels’ before crafting his first studio album ‘True’. This groundbreaking debut fused electronic beats with an array of other genres.

The album hit the top ten across over 15 countries and dominated international charts, most notably with its anthemic lead single ‘Wake Me Up’, which conquered music charts throughout Europe and claimed the number four spot in the US.

In a quick succession of success, he dropped his second full-length record ‘Stories’ just two years later, and then a self-titled EP in 2017.
