An 85-year-old man has died in hospital days after being after being hit by a car in Renfrewshire.
The pedestrian has been named by police as John Allan. The crash happened at around 8.30am on Beith Road, Johnstone on Sunday, December 29.
John was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment for his injuries, but tragically passed away on Tuesday, December 31.

The driver of the car, a red Toyota Corolla, was not injured. The road was closed in both directions between Midton Road and Fordbank Avenue while an investigation took place, and later reopened at 2.10pm.
Police Scotland are continuing their public appeal to try and piece together what happened.
Sergeant Paul Mellis of the Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts remain with John’s family and friends at this very difficult time.
“Enquiries into the crash are continuing. I would appeal to anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact us through 101 quoting incident number 0814 of 29 December, 2024.”
