Virginia State Police investigate crash(WYMT)

BLAND COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police said they are investigating a single vehicle accident that left one person dead and another person in the hospital with serious injuries.

According to VSP, the accident happened at 12:01 a.m. on January 1 on Sugar Bottom Road in Bland County.

VSP said a homemade, off-road vehicle was heading south, near the intersection with Waddle Town Road, when the vehicle went off the left side of the road and down an embankment. The vehicle overturned once, and VSP said both the driver and passenger were thrown from the vehicle.

VSP said the driver, 54-year-old Bradley S. Davis of Bland, died at the scene. The passenger, 55-year-old Roberta A. Davis, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital, according to VSP.
