Meanwhile, the 1.47-inch HD touch screen that boasts “sharp” and “clear” visuals can also be personalised to your preferred design. It also meets IP68 waterproof rating, meaning you don’t need to take it off on rainy days or when washing your hands.

Over 5,800 Amazon shoppers have left the Blackview R1 Smart Watch a five-star review, with high praise hailing it as “absolutely brilliant” and “amazing value” compared to some of the bigger names on the market.

One five-star review read: “Absolutely brilliant, don’t be put off by the price. Have had several fitbits over the years and this is far better by a mile.”

A second similar review read: “I bought this watch for my boyfriend because he loves my Fitbit, but honestly I think this watch is better than my Fitbit. Obviously so affordable, really cool functions and a really nice smartphone app too. I love the ‘find my phone’ feature which is something I haven’t seen before! Would recommend!!!!”

A third review echoed: “Amazing value! This watch is amazing. I had an apple watch and honestly prefer this one and it’s so sleek and stylish it goes with anything. Would definitely recommend!”

Someone else said: “I bought this as a stopgap when my Fitbit died – waterproof my eye! At 10% of the cost of a Fitbit I wasn’t expecting much but was suitably impressed. The watch is easy to set up and has a helpful and simple to use app. It delivered what it promises and I have had no issues. A great option if you have an active life or are likely to be in the sea!”

Not everyone was impressed, as one three-star review criticised it as “basic”, reading: “Very basic, suppose it’s expected with the price… Loses connection often and is quite temperamental. Just about counts my steps and that’s the only reason I bought it. I will probably look for something more next time.”
