The First Minister made a special visit to West Lothian, where he engaged with children and staff at Busy Bees nursery.
His visit highlighted the Scottish Government’s commitment to understanding and addressing the pressures faced by families in the area.
During his visit, John Swinney explored various initiatives aimed at providing young children with the best possible start in life. The focus was on the significant £1billion investment in early years education, a cornerstone of the government’s strategy to tackle child poverty and improve outcomes for children across Scotland.
Angela Constance, MSP for Almond Valley and Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs, expressed her enthusiasm for the visit, saying: “I am delighted to welcome the First Minister to our constituency.
“His engagement with the children and staff at Busy Bees underscores the Scottish Government’s dedication to supporting families in West Lothian. This substantial investment in early years is crucial for giving our young people the opportunities they deserve.”
