Emmerdale has seemingly revealed who abducted April Windsor, and it’s not who viewers might have anticipated.

The teenager, played by Amelia Flanagan, disappeared from the Dales during the festive season, last seen entering an unfamiliar car driven by an unknown person.

This followed a tense period in her relationship with Marlon after she discovered the truth about her mother Donna’s (Verity Rushworth) death in 2014. Subsequently, April turned to alcohol and drugs before vanishing, Leeds Live reports.

Since then, her father Marlon (Mark Charnock) has been desperate to locate her, as has the rest of the village. However, in Thursday’s episode (January 2), events took a shocking turn when trainee doctor Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) was startled by the arrival of a young woman who had been stabbed and later died in A&E.

Although Jacob didn’t see the patient’s face, he found her purse and realised it belonged to missing April, leading him to fear the worst. He promptly informed April’s worried parents, Marlon Dingle and Rhona Goskirk (Zoë Henry).

But upon identifying the body, Marlon and Rhona were stunned to find that it wasn’t April but another individual. While relieved that April wasn’t dead, Marlon remained concerned about her location.

Emmerdale enthusiasts are convinced they’ve pieced together the puzzle of April Windsor’s mysterious vanishing. Taking to social media, fans expressed their suspicions that Anna, who serves as the family liaison officer for April’s clan might be involved.

One viewer professed on an Emmerdale fan group on Facebook: “I think the liaison officer is dodgy, putting it out there! ” This prompted a response from another fan: “I said this when she was at the hospital. Something doesn’t seem right.”

Echoing the sentiment, another added: “Maybe she’s bent and took April? ” Rhea Bailey, who brings the character of Anna to life, isn’t a stranger to villainous roles, having portrayed the infamous Caz Hammond in Coronation Street from 2015 to 2016.

Her memorable stint as Caz included a gripping storyline where she controlled and abused Kate Connor (Faye Brookes), stalked Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent), and even conspired to frame Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) for her supposed murder before her schemes were unleashed.
