RICHLANDS, Va. – The Richlands Police Department said two people have been arrested for armed robbery, abduction, and other charges after weapons were found in multiple apartments.
According to a press release, the Richlands Police Department said on January 2, the Richlands Police Department (RPD) received information relating to different firearms offenses happening in town. An investigation soon started, which the RPD said continued into January 3.
RPD said multiple search warrants were conducted on apartments at both Hunter’s Ridge and Oxford Square Apartments.
Both searches revealed a firearm that was used in an armed robbery and abduction that happened weeks earlier, RPD said.
24-year-old Daniel Nelson Jr., and 20-year-old Jerome De’Andre Lynch, both from Richlands, were charged with Armed Robbery, Abduction, and other charges, RPD said.
RPD also said other people involved in firearms and narcotics related offenses have also been identified, both in Richlands and in other places.
Work is continuing into investigating the crimes and RPD said they are working with authorities in neighboring jurisdictions to make sure all offenders are charged.
