NEW RICHMOND, W.Va. – A familiar face comes to town to lead the Wyoming East Warriors boys basketball team.
After Derek Brooks was terminated by the Wyoming County Board of Education in December, Kent McBride has now taken the reigns at Wyoming East High School.
McBride had a storybook career as a Warrior, leading the team to its first Class AA state championship over Poca in 2002 and then playing collegiately at Concord.
In 2011, McBride became the head coach at Concord University before leaving for California (Pa.) in 2016.
McBride now returns to his home roots to coach his high school alma mater.
