Three men have been charged following an attempted murder in a Scots town earlier this week.

Officers from Police Scotland were alerted to a disturbance at a property on Wallace Court in Castle Douglas, Dumfries and Galloway, at around 11:30pm on Thursday, January 2.

The 39-year-old victim was rushed to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary with what police describe as ‘serious injuries‘ following the alleged attack. Three men, aged 29, 39 and 49, have been charged with attempted murder and are now due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court on Monday, January 6.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Three men have been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder in Castle Douglas. Officers attended at a property on Wallace Court in the town around 11.30pm on Thursday, 2 January.

A 38-year-old man was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary with serious injuries. The three men, aged 29, 39 and 49, are due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court on Monday, 6 January, 2025.”
