The famous face using Spaghetti Bolognese as a disguise on The Masked Singer UK has been revealed. Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway was the star hiding inside the outrageous outfit.
The broadcaster was unmasked after finding herself in the bottom two alongside Teeth. Six new characters took to the stage during yesterday’s show, kicking off the sixth series of the wacky ITV guessing game show.
The Mirror reports Dressed Crab, Kingfisher, Tattoo and Snail were the other new performers on the show, in front of celebrity detectives Jonathan Ross, Maya Jama, Davina McCall, and Mo Gilligan, and special guest Sir Mo Farah.
However, Spag Bol and Teeth found themselves in the bottom two after receiving the least amount of votes from the studio audience.
The panel decided to save Teeth from elimination which meant that Spag Bol became the first contestant to be given the boot from the new series.
When the mystery celebrity began taking off their mask, Host Joel Dommett stepped in to tell them to wait until the following episode, leaving viewers at home fuming with the cliffhanger.
During the episode today, Sunday, January 5, 2025, Spag Bol finally got to take off their mask revealing Garraway was the person inside the costume.
Speaking to Joel after being unmasked, Kate said: “I can’t sing and I can’t telling them that and they kept saying ‘it doesn’t matter’.” The mother-of-two also revealed that her two children Darcey and Billy Draper didn’t know she was doing the show.
And she said she had lied to them saying she was “doing something for charity“. However, the reveal didn’t come to a surprise to viewers watching the show at home.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: “I knew it was kate garraway!!!.” Another added: “It was obvious.” A third person said: “Of course its Kate Garraway.” While a fourth agreed: “I said Kate Garraway in family group chat last night.”
Bush, Bear, Pegasus, Pufferfish, Toad in The Hole and Wolf will all take to the stage for the first time during the second episode of the series. The Masked Singer UK is available to watch on ITVX.
