Rangers thrilling draw with Hibs ended in chaos as Mohamed Diomande and Nicky Cadden clashed at the full-time whistle.
Philippe Clement’s side kept their momentum going after seeing off Celtic on Thursday and flew into a 2-0 lead thanks to a Hamza Igamane at Easter Road to leave Hibs stunned. However, the hosts would give themselves a lifeline when Martin Boyle found the net just before the break and thinks went from bad to worse when Ianis Hagi bundled over Josh Campbell in the box – allowing Boyle to net his second of the afternoon from the spot.
But it would be Igamane to the rescue as the Moroccan restored Rangers lead against the run of play – before Rocky Bushiri bundled the ball into the net to level the thriller once again. The game would end – but neither side appeared happy to have been made to settle for a Premiership point.
And temperatures flared between Hibs man Cadden and the Rangers midfielder Diomande after John Beaton sounded the full-time whistle. Chris Sutton on co-commentary noted: ‘Diomande and Cadden are squaring up. Diomande with the shove there.”
The Ibrox star appeared to take issue with Cadden and confronted him after the full-time whistle. There was an exchange of words before pushing – and then their teammates would intervene.
