On Monday’s A Place in the Sun episode, house hunters Jasmin and David sought Jasmine Harman’s guidance in finding their perfect home in Competa, southern Spain. Their objective was to relocate permanently, and their budget for the endeavour was £130,000.

Jasmine introduced them to a three-bedroom townhouse as her first offering. With a £130,000 price tag, it boasted an impressive roof terrace with views of the sea and the mountains.

The property had a living area, a small space for a table in the kitchen, and a modest ground-floor shower room. A double room upstairs enjoyed natural light, a Juliet balcony, and another living area linked to a compact conservatory.

Initially put off by the compact space, Jasmin and David were subsequently captivated by the vista from the roof. Nonetheless, after assessing the kitchen as “too dark,” they concluded the first property was unsuitable for them.

Next, Jasmine showed them a £138,000 three-bedroom house. Although it exceeded their budget, its attractions included outdoor areas at every level, such as a patio, a balcony, and a roof terrace offering better views on ascending.

Entering through the front door, the pair saw a spacious entry hallway containing a modern side kitchen and a lounge diner with expansive windows for capturing the views. Before even setting foot in the house, Jasmin quickly shared her reservations.

She disclosed her thoughts to the host and apologised for the deal breaker, “I don’t love the location, sorry. Even though the facilities are in walking distance, it feels quite remote,” reports the Mirror.

Following their own inspection of the property, the prospective buyers admitted to Jasmine that they were impressed with the interior but remained uncertain about its positioning. Despite appreciating what the house had to offer, they relayed to her that they would be placing the idea of purchasing the holiday home on hold.

Jasmine’s third pick for the house hunters was another three-bedroom townhouse with an asking price of £130,000. The property boasted a breathtaking balcony offering scenic views over Competa and featured stairs leading up to an additional roof terrace.

“It is gorgeous,” Jasmin enthused, ecstatic with the choice presented by the expert. “It is perfect.”

However, the fourth option, valued at £134,000, which included a private courtyard tucked away on the ground level and a vast roof terrace providing panoramic village sights, didn’t hit the mark for the couple, as they realised quickly during their visit that the home wasn’t quite right for them.

Despite being priced way above their budget at £152,000, Jasmine hoped the fifth property would wow her house hunters.

Inside, the entrance hall led into a kitchen diner with plenty of room for the family. On this floor, there was a double bedroom set up with a sofa bed and a large shower room that doubled as a utility.

Upstairs, there was a lovely landing area, a really spacious living room, and another double bedroom. The self-contained apartment with a kitchenette and living area open to the third bedroom was off the first terrace.

After viewing all five properties, Jasmin and David made a cheeky offer of £127,000 on the fifth property. Despite the homeowners rejecting their first offer, they made a counter-offer of just over £130,000, which was accepted.

A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 6pm on Channel 4.
