Amazon has reduced the price of an “ultra thick” and “heavy duty” windscreen cover to just £15. The BEEWAY Car Windshield Cover, designed for cars and SUVs, is now available for £15.29, down from its original price of £21.99. An X-large version of the same cover is also available for £17.99.

The device blocks nearly 99% of UV rays and can withstand temperatures as low as -50C. It also “prevents frost, snow, and ice buildup on the windshield in the winter and reduces the time spent scrapping ice or snow in the mornings.”

Made up of four layers – PEVA aluminium foil, spunlaced cotton, composite cotton, and a soft non-woven lining – the cover is “ultra thick and heavy duty to keep the windshield clean and clear”, keeping the windshield clean and clear in both summer and winter.

With an average rating of 4.6 out of five and over 4,000 five-star ratings, the BEEWAY Car Windshield Cover has convinced reviewers. One satisfied buyer wrote: “This is my First time purchasing a screen cover for my car-just in time for snow and ice! It fits easily and neatly and protects the screen well. It can be easily removed, dried, and packed away for next time. Clear, simple instructions. I am pleased with my purchase so far.”

Another shared: “Really pleased as really suffer with iced up windscreen which in turns mists up inside. Only used this last night so far so was very cold but no rain. Rest of car windows were misted and ice but windscreen was totally clear when I took it off. It also comes with a cover to keep it in which is great”, reports the Mirror.

A third remarked: “No more de-icer or scrapping windows for me, as long as I remember to put it on! It’s really cold up here and it’s worked on the iced up windows perfectly. I bought the extra large and I have a Peugeot wheel chair access vehicle,” while another fan commented: “Used it when -2 overnight for 5am start. Windscreen perfect inside and out. Ok it’s one morning but saved a lot of time and fuel purely because I was on my way so quickly.”

However, there was mixed feedback. One person suggested: “On cold days it stops the windscreen from freezing BUT on windy days, you will end up losing it as it’s held by the doors only. A design flaw. Should have something to tighten the flaps inside together so the wind doesn’t not take it away. Bear that in mind.”

A second commented: “My wife already had a similar cover, It’s worth paying a bit more for this type of quilted cover (…) It covers my windscreen perfectly without being baggy. Because it is thicker it stays in place better as you position it and secure it with the car doors.”

“Make sure you put it on shiny side up as that side is water repellent. The cover works well against frost. Just try and avoid it getting wet as it absorbs water and will drip a lot when hung up to dry.” Meanwhile, a driver agreed: “If it rains this gets soaked and needs to be hung somewhere to dry.”

Amazon offers a range of covers, including the QcoQce Car Windscreen Cover for £15.25 instead of £19.90, the Frostguard Vortex Full-Coverage Car Windshield for under £45, and the Goodyear Quilted Car Windscreen Cover for £12.99, discounted from £14.99.
