Liam Kelly admits Rangers’ Easter Road sloppiness took the shine off Hamza Igamane’s magic moment in Leith.

The young Moroccan fired a sensational hat-trick on Sunday as he twice put Rangers on course for victory. But the Light Blues could not hold on against David Gray’s team as they were pegged back by a Martin Boyle’s double and a late Rocky Bushiri header. The 3-3 thriller means Philippe Clement’s outfit have now dropped 18 points from the 30 they’ve contested away from home – compared to the mere two they’ve spilled at Ibrox.

Clement’s backline may be creaking but Igamane continues to get better and better, with his treble in Edinburgh making it 10 goals in the 22-year-old’s last 11 games and 11 in total for the season. And keeper Kelly felt annoyed that his team-mate wasn’t able to walk off with both the win and the match-ball.

Kelly said: “Aye, part of the frustration is that we’ve not backed up that hat-trick for Hamza. Obviously, he’s the top end of the pitch, so it’s not so much on him. He defends as a collective and he attacks as a collective.

“But I’m so disappointed and so angry that we’ve not managed to win the game. That’s my overriding emotion. In any game, when you play for this club, if you score three goals, that should be more than enough to win the game. So, I was really annoyed at the defensive moments we gave away. It was sloppy from us. We should never have conceded three goals.”
