Coronation Street viewers were left heartbroken as Mason Radcliffe met a tragic end in tonight’s episode, with another character potentially set to exit the Cobbles.
In distressing ITV scenes, Mason was murdered by his own brothers just hours before he planned to flee to Germany.
He had intended to inform the police about his brothers’ involvement in an ongoing case and then escape their clutches by relocating to Germany for work. However, his life was cut short when he was fatally stabbed, the Mirror reports.

Mason had wanted to visit his home one last time for a keepsake of his mother and enlisted Dylan’s help. They believed Mason’s brothers were securely behind bars, but they had been released due to insufficient evidence.
In chilling scenes, Mason’s brothers cornered and attacked him. Unbeknownst to others, Dylan had brought a zombie knife for protection which was ultimately used by one of Mason’s brothers to inflict a fatal wound.

Dylan fled, leaving Mason with a horrifying injury. Scenes showing Mason reconciling with Betsy and confronting Liam, whom he had bullied at school, were revealed to be mere thoughts and Abi eventually found Mason with a knife wound in his stomach.
Abi made a desperate attempt to save him, calling for an ambulance. However, despite the best efforts of paramedics and hospital staff, Mason succumbed to his injuries, leaving Betsy devastated as she received the news.
The tragic event also hit Abi hard, who was reminded of her son Seb’s tragic death, leading her to break down in Kevin’s arms. The demise of Mason, portrayed by Luca Toolan, had a profound impact on everyone, including his sworn enemies like Gary Windass and Maria Connor.
When Sean informed Dylan about Mason’s fate, he was shattered, knowing that he had brought the knife to the fight, albeit without intending for anyone to get hurt. Later, police officer Kit Green was seen cordoning off the area, declaring it a crime scene.
This raises questions about Dylan’s future on the show – could he face legal trouble and potentially end up in prison for bringing the knife?
