Two Livingston slimmers have taken control of their health after being unhappy with their photos on their wedding day.

Prior to joining their Slimming World group, Shannon and Robyn Owens said they felt sluggish and dissatisfied with how they looked. This sparked their decision to make a change.

After just two weeks at their Slimming World group, Shannon and Robyn were amazed at how easy the transition had been. They found themselves enjoying the food, discovering new recipes, and looking forward to the weekly group sessions.

Shannon said: “In the past I was sceptical of any diet working but having seen the results I now believe that with Slimming World’s generous Food Optimising plan you can change your whole lifestyle and never go hungry.”

Robyn added: “We are very proud of our weight losses of 1st 8lbs and 2st 0.5lbs since we joined in August 2024 and the fact that we have both gained our Club 10 award and know the health benefits of this achievement encourages us.

“Family and friends are starting to notice which fills us with confidence that we’re doing well and motivates us to continue to push ourselves to get to target!”

While their journey wasn’t without its challenges— Shannon and Robyn’s commitment to their goals, along with the support they received from their group, helped them stay on track.

Socialising and eating out is a big part of their lives and they have learnt how to easy it is to do so whilst losing weight.

In recognition of their dedication and positive contributions, the duo was recently voted Slimming World Icons 2024 by their group.

Slimming World consultant Gaye Malcolm said: “Since the day they joined, Shannon and Robyn have been a positive influence in the group, fully embracing food optimising and becoming a joy to have as members.

“Their commitment, honesty, and positive contributions were recognized when they were voted Slimming World Icons 2024 by their peers. Even when they can’t attend their regular session, they remain committed to staying on track, and I couldn’t be prouder of their progress.

“I look forward to celebrating them achieving their target weights.”

Gaye’s group run every week in Geddes House, Kirkton North Road, Livingston, on Thursdays at 5.30pm and 7pm and Saturdays at 8am and 9.30am.
