LASHMEET, W.Va. – One male was transported to Princeton Community Hospital with a gunshot wound this morning.
According to Chief Deputy J.J. Ruble with the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, the shooting occurred around 10 a.m. on Monday.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Beason Road in Lashmeet. Upon arrival, they found one subject with a gunshot wound. After a preliminary investigation, it was determined to be a domestic situation.
At this time, one individual has been detained for questioning. Ruble says the victim is currently in serious but stable condition.
More details are set to be released soon in the ongoing investigation.
