Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) honcho Dana White has joined the board of directors at Meta.

“I love social media,” the 55-year-old entrepreneur posted on Facebook and its rival platform X. “And I’m excited to be a small part of the future of AI and emerging technologies.”

Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg welcomed White to his team on Facebook, which is one of the platforms his company controls.

“Dana is the President and CEO of UFC, and he has built it into one of the most valuable, fastest growing, and most popular sports enterprises in the world,” Zuckerberg wrote. “I’ve admired him as an entrepreneur and his ability to build such a beloved brand.”

Zuckerberg, who trains in mixed martial arts, also announced the addition of Exor CEO John Elkann and former Microsoft strategist Charlie Songhurst to his board of directors.

“2025 is going to be a big year for Meta and I’m excited to have them on board!” Zuckerberg posted.

Meta’s other tech properties include Instagram, Threads, and WhatsApp.

White is a spirited Donald Trump supporter who endorsed the President-elect at the Republican National Committee convention. Meta gave $1 million to Trump’s inauguration fund. The 47th president’s electoral win was certified Monday. He’ll be sworn into office Jan. 20 following a campaign that enjoyed heavy support from the tech industry.
