Drag Queen RuPaul has broken his silence following the devastating news of the death of Drag Race UK star, James Lee Williams, who has passed away aged 32.
The star, better known as ‘The Vivienne’ on the popular reality show which she won in 2019, passed away over the weekend. The details surrounding the death are currently unknown.
American host, RuPaul Andre Charles, 64, has now taken to social media with “a broken heart” and paid an emotional tribute to the late drag queen.
Sharing a snap on Instagram, RuPaul wrote: “With a broken heart, I join the entire Drag Race universe in mourning the loss of The Vivienne—an incredibly talented queen and a lovely human being.”
Fans flocked to the comments to share in his devastation. One wrote: “The RPDR fandom throughout the world has been shaken to its core. RIP Queen Viv.”

Another added: “Thank you for giving her a platform that brought her all to our screens.”
Other celebs have also posted kind words including fellow drag performer ‘The Danny Beard’ who wrote: “You meant the world to her! Sending love.”
RuPaul’s Drag Race show has also paid tribute in a separate statement on X which reads: “She will be dearly missed, but her legacy will live on as a beacon of creativity and authenticity – she embodied what it means to be a true champion. Our hearts go out to her family and fans during this difficult time.”
Dubbed as the “the best Snatch Game character in the history of the show” by RuPaul judge Michelle Visage, The Vivienne was known for her unapologetically unique and hilarious straight-talking as well as her unmatchable pizzazz.
She won the show in 2019 with her President Trump impression which was completed with orange makeup, pouted lips and a blonde wig.
