Maxwell Braunstein wasn’t the only celebrity look-alike on the red carpet on Sunday.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — A Texas man got a moment in the Hollywood spotlight Sunday night, thanks to his resemblance to Austin native and Golden Globe-nominated actor Glen Powell.

Back in November, we told you about a Powell look-alike contest at Auditorium Shores. Powell’s real mother, Cyndy, was one of the judges, helping pick physician assistant Maxwell Braunstein as the winner.

But Braunstein’s success didn’t end with bragging rights, a cowboy hat and free queso for a year. In addition to an apparent offer for a cameo in Powell’s next film, Braunstein also got to attend the Golden Globes’ red carpet in Beverly Hills, California, on Jan. 5.

While he was there, he ran into the actor himself. In a video captured by E! News, Braunstein and Powell embraced and snapped a selfie before Powell brought his mother over to reintroduce her to Braunstein.

And Braunstein wasn’t the only celebrity look-alike on the red carpet. He was joined by Miles Mitchell, who was named the winner of a Timothée Chalamet’s lookalike contest in New York City in October. Braunstein and Mitchell walked the carpet carrying signs that read, “I won a lookalike contest and now I’m at the Golden Globes.”

In a video shared to his Instagram account, Braunstein said the night was “a lot” but “a very fun experience, to say the least.”
