The happiest place to live in Britain has been revealed and it’s thanks to its scenic beauty, vibrant community and a slower pace of life.
The pretty market town, which sits on a river, has been declared as the winner in a survey by property experts.
The poll asked where was the happiest place to live in the UK and Woodbridge, Suffolk came out tops.
The town sits on the banks of the River Deben and is said to be the perfect blend of modern comforts and traditional British charm, reports the Express.
And it was home to a famous resident too. Busted lead singer Charlie Simpson grew up in Woodbridge and attended school there.
The charming market town has definitely captured the hearts of its residents, topping an annual Rightmove survey that gathered responses from over 35,000 people.
But what exactly makes this Suffolk town so special?
One of the key reasons Woodbridge consistently ranks as the happiest place to live in the UK is its strong sense of community.
Residents of this Suffolk gem enjoy a close-knit environment where neighbours greet each other with a smile and local businesses thrive thanks to loyal customers.
Kate Trefusis moved to Woodbridge with her husband, local vicar Charles Trefusis, in 2022 and vouched for the friendly atmosphere.
“It’s the happiest place I’ve ever lived,” she told the Sunday Telegraph.
Woodbridge mayor councillor Robin Sanders also agrees. He told Sky News that the “happy mood of residents is a reflection of the vibrant town centre.”
The town’s scenic location along the River Deben is also a huge draw for both locals and visitors.
Whether it’s taking a leisurely walk along the riverbank, enjoying a boat ride, or simply relaxing at one of the riverside pubs, the natural beauty of Woodbridge provides a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
