Baby Reindeer star Richard Gadd was so “psyched” to attend WWE’s massive Netflix premiere LA that he joked about landing a trademark finisher on The Rock.

The Fife-born actor and writer rubbed shoulders with superstars including Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin and rapper Travis Scott as the sold-out Intuit Dome witnessed wrestling history. The likes of the People’s Champ, John Cena, The Undertaker and Roman Reigns took to the canvas as Gadd soaked in the atmosphere hours after his Golden Globe triumph.

Standing ringside, Gadd spoke to US outlet Deadline where he revealed he has been a “wrestling fan my entire life” before joking about getting icon Dwayne Johnson in the ring.

“I’m going to give him a stone-cold stunner,” referencing a wrestling move. “I think he can take it, he’s taken a few down the years. But it would be an honour to — maybe I’ll put my Golden Globe on the line in a sort of Universal Championship vs Golden Globe match with (US wrestler) Cody Rhodes, maybe. Winner takes all!”

As his breakout Netflix series Baby Reindeer won the Golden Globe for Outstanding Limited Series or Anthology on Sunday, Gadd also namechecked The Rock as a show of his respect for the WWE Hall of Famer. Onstage he said: “This is insane seeing all you people here. That’s mad. The Rock’s there. This is crazy, I can’t believe it. Honestly, I grew up on you, man. This is nuts.”
