A budget-friendly winter skincare essential that has a legion of celebrity fans is on offer at Boots – but for one day only.

The health and beauty firm’s weekly £10 Tuesday flash-sale is available to shop exclusively online for the remainder of today, January 7. For us, the standout of the current sale is Weleda’s Skin Food Cream.

This moisturiser has gone on to earn a cult reputation since it debuted long ago in 1926. Hailed as a “miracle” cream that soothes winter skin, it is said to boast a fanbase in the likes of musicians such as Adele and Anne-Marie, alongside Victoria Beckham.

It’s not just A-lister’s who love it, as the iconic cream is said to sell one globally “every 11 seconds”, according to the firm. In today’s flash sale, you can get yourself a 75ml bottle of this “skin-saviour” down from £14.95, alongside the light version for less dry skin.

Made with extracts of organic plants and essential oils, Skin Food is designed to “intensively nourish and protect dry skin”. Since it provides immediate moisture, it is no surprise that reviews say it is “perfect” for the current winter weather.

Winner of multiple awards, the cream can be used to restore your skin’s barrier on areas of the body that are known to get dry and cracked at this time of the year. From soothing dry elbows to nourishing rough skin on your face, this “universal” cream can do it all.

As of writing, Weleda’s Skin Food Cream has an impressive 4.6 average rating among Boots shoppers who have hailed it as a “tube of miracles” that helps their skin to feel “super soft” during the colder season.

A glowing review read: “Tube of miracles. I had very dry skin on my elbows and knees so applied a small amount. Not only does it smell incredible but after one application my skin was supple super soft and hydrated.”

A similar review read: “My hands were so dry and rough, now I’ve found a miracle in this cream. It’s so light and absorbent and my dryness has disappeared leaving my hands looking younger and firmer looking skin.”

Someone else wrote: “When your skin needs a little something extra, particularly in winter, this is the thing. Rich, healing and organic.”

While another positive review read: “Skin food is such a lifesaver for my super dry skin in Winter. It’s quickly absorbed but sooo nourishing and leaves me with a glow!”

Some beauty fans have found the texture of the cream to be a little too heavy for them, as one three-star review read: “Good everyday moisturiser, a little bit greasy but has improved my skin.”
