The wait is almost over for the highly anticipated return of Dancing On Ice, which is set to make a comeback on TV screens in just a few days. This year, a fresh batch of 11 famous faces will take to the ice to showcase their skating skills.
The 2025 lineup boasts a range of celebrities, including Ferne McCann and Dan Edgar from TOWIE, Mollie Pearce from The Traitors, Chelsee Healey from Hollyoaks, Springwatch presenter Michaela Strachan, and former EastEnders actress Charlie Brooks.
They’ll be joined by Coronation Street’s Sam Aston, comedian Josh Jones, Love Island’s Chris Taylor, ex-footballer Anton Ferdinand, and Olympic legend Sir Steve Redgrave.
As the show’s return on January 12 draws closer, speculation about the potential winner is already underway. Bookmakers have revealed their current odds, with Coral placing Chris Taylor, from Love Island, as the 7-2 favorite to win the 2025 series.
Mollie Pearce from The Traitors and Dan Edgar from TOWIE trail behind, both sitting at 9-2 to take home the coveted trophy. “Reality TV stars have a great record on Dancing On Ice, and our betting suggests that could continue this year, as former Love Island contestant Chris Taylor tops the betting to win the latest series,” said Coral’s John Hill.
Meanwhile, footballer Anton Ferdinand and comedian Josh Jones are facing lower odds, sitting at 16-1, and Olympic icon Sir Steve Redgrave is the least likely to win according to Coral, with odds of 33-1.
Steve, a five-time Olympic gold medallist, has shared his apprehensions about participating in Dancing On Ice, reports the Mirror. He’s candidly discussed his health struggles after being diagnosed with diabetes nearly three decades ago and expressed concern over how it might affect his performance on the ice.
“I’ve been diabetic for almost 30 years so the sensation in my feet isn’t as good as what it used to be so navigating my footing on the ice could be a problem. I also have dupuytren’s contracture which affects my hands, meaning I can’t make them flat. So if I do fall over, although I’m planning not to, it means I may have trouble getting up,” Steve disclosed before the series start.
Dupuytren’s contracture causes one or more fingers to bend towards the palm and can worsen over time, according to the NHS website. Steve is set to compete on Dancing On Ice with professional skater Vicky Ogden.
Dancing On Ice begins on Sunday, January 12 on ITV and ITVX
