Mould can be a real nuisance at this time of year, hence the rising popularity of products like dehumidifiers. These devices control humidity levels in your home to prevent mould and mildew, which can sometimes lead to health problems and damage to your property.
They work by drawing in air and passing it over a cooling coil to condense moisture into water, which is then collected inside the device. The dehumidifier then releases dry air back into the room.
Unfortunately, dehumidifiers aren’t cheap, so it’s best to grab them when they’re on sale. Luckily, Debenhams has slashed the price of this Pro Breeze 12L Low Energy Dehumidifier with Built-in Humidistat from £184.99 to £99.99 as part of its massive winter sale, reports the Liverpool Echo.

The whopping 46 per cent discount means you can grab the “efficient” product at a knockdown price and put it to work in your home right away. The Low Energy Dehumidifier boasts a 1.8litre water tank which “ensures continuous moisture collection throughout the day”, according to the Debenhams website.
It also includes a drainage hose for “optional plumbing into a drain or container for long-term use”. The department store claim the product is “ideal for dampness, mould and moisture in homes, basements and bathrooms suffering from damp and humid conditions”.
Debenhams also say the Pro Breeze dehumidifier “costs as little as 5p an hour to run”, meaning it won’t make a huge dent in your winter bills. They add: “This unit has been designed to be energy efficient, helping you save money on your bills. The 1.8L water tank automatically shuts off when full, with a continuous drainage hose included for long-term use.”
Debenhams shoppers have lavished praise on the dehumidifier, as it boasts a 4.6 out of 5 stars rating on their site from over 100 reviews.
One happy buyer said: “The best buy. Bought it during the sale and very happy. Not loud when in full mode operating. If it’s on sleep mode you cannot even hear it working. It really helps dry my clothes faster. The amount of water collected is a good sign it is really doing its job. Highly recommend. It was delivered on time with lots of updates.”
Another customer enthused: “Great product, helps to clear out mould a lot, definitely recommend for any place.” A third added: “Great dehumidifier with easy to empty tub. This just consumes 200w so is pretty efficient as well.”
Some customers were not totally enamoured with the dehumidifier, however. One said: “Does its job. Beeps too much when it becomes full. Annoying in the middle of the night.”
