The Geordies have made a grand comeback with a fresh series of Geordie Shore, venturing off to Thailand for an unforgettable escapade.
This time, the crew has flown to Asia for Kyle Christie’s stag celebration, with arrangements spearheaded by his close mate James Tindale.
Today (January 7), fans were treated to the first episode on Paramount+, however, there’s been a shake-up in how the show kicks off.
Ordinarily, viewers get to see the cast in the midst of pre-travel preparations at home, getting their bags ready and saying farewells to family and friends.
Scenes traditionally include them chatting away in taxis en route to the airport and congregating as a group prior to departure, reports the Mirror.
Since its inception in 2011, this has been the norm, with the cast experiencing a myriad of international excursions to places like Australia, Cyprus, and Greece.
But this time, the episode starts with everyone already soaking up the sun in Thailand.
James and Kyle reached their villa upon the isle of Ko Samui, soon to be joined by Jay Gardner, Ricci Guarnaccio, Holly Hagan, and Scott Timlin.
On another side of town, Sophie Kasaei, Nathan Henry, Chloe Ferry, and Abbie Holborn were taking Bangkok by storm.
Amidst the energy of a rooftop scene, Nathan opened up to Chloe about his father’s troubling diagnosis of stage four lung cancer.
To the cameras, he expressed: “Bangkok is a massive distraction and that’s exactly what I need right now. Since last time, my dad has been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer and it has been a tough time for all of my family.”
“When I found out, I didn’t know how to react, I didn’t know what to do, I just went numb and I kind of shut down. It’s only recently that I’ve actually started to process things.”
In a heart-to-heart with his mate, Nathan confessed: “It’s not something that’s gonna go away, its something that’s there, my dad has cancer.”
Chloe responded: “Its awful, you should never have those words come out of your mouth.”
Overwhelmed by emotion, Nathan began crying and was comforted by Chloe in a tender embrace.
“It is scary, the thought of losing a parent is unbearable. I don’t know, he’s my dad,” the I’m A Celebrity Australia star revealed.
Chloe reassured him that even though it’s his dad battling the illness, it’s crucial for him to also take some time off.
