AUSTIN, Texas — After many reports of a goose with an arrow through it near Mueller Lake Park, the Austin Animal Center (AAC) said the gander is now recovering at a wildlife rescue.
AAC said on Sunday that it had received “countless” calls about the goose. After chasing it around the lake, the center’s Animal Protection officers were finally able to catch the goose and send it to a wildlife rescue so it can safely recover.
“This tough bird stayed on the move at full speed, and was still able to fly, making it quite the challenge,” AAC said in a social media post.
KVUE reached out to AAC to learn more about the rescue and the gander’s recovery journey. This article will be updated if we learn more.
At this time, it’s unclear if AAC is working with the Austin Police Department to investigate how the goose was shot.
