A busy street has been shut off by Police Scotland officers as they investigate an incident which left a man and woman injured in the early hours of this morning.

Police Scotland said Argyle Street, in Glasgow, has been closed to the public following the incident, which took place at around 1.10am. The force said the road is shut between University Avenue and Church Street.

A post on the Police Scotland Greater Glasgow Facebook page read: “Argyle Street is closed between University Avenue and Church Street, after a report of a man and woman injured following a disturbance within a property around 1.10am on Tuesday, 7 January, 2025.

“They have been taken to hospital and a man has been arrested in connection. Officers remain in the area carrying out enquiries. Drivers are asked to use an alternative route.”
