Shoppers have been warned about a “safety issue” caused by a popular sweet treat that was once sold at TK Maxx and Homesense.
TJX Europe, owner of the leading firms, has announced it is recalling the Sultans Turkish Delight. The recall affects various packs of the snack as they contain a small amount of milk that has not been declared on the list of ingredients.
An alert posted to the Food Standards Agency (FSA) explains that this means the product poses a “possible health risk” for anyone with a dairy intolerance or allergy, with the firm urging those who do to “stop using it immediately.”
The food recall affects 250g and 225g boxes sizes that were sold in stores between November and December 2024. Shoppers who bought the product will need to check for a best before date of September 25, 2026.
As of writing, the recall currently affects four flavours of the Sultans Turkish Delight, all which have various batch codes that we have detailed below for your information:
-
Sultans Chocolate Covered Lemon Turkish Delight, 250g – 760240
-
Sultans Chocolate Covered Strawberry Turkish Delight, 250g – 760241
-
Sultans Chocolate Covered Pistachio Turkish Delight, 250g – 760242
-
Sultans Chocolate Covered Pistachio Turkish Delight, 225g – 760246
If you suffer from a daily intolerance/allergy and you have bought any of the above products, then you are being encouraged to return it to any TK Maxx or Homesense store where you will be provided with a full refund or replacement.
Shoppers will also find point of sale notices in stores that sell the affected product. These will detail why the product is being recalled and what to do if they have bought a pack.
In its recall notice, TJX Europe wrote: “We are recalling the Sultans Turkish Delight due to a safety issue. They contain a small amount of undeclared milk which could cause an allergic reaction.
“If you purchased the product and are allergic to milk, please stop using it immediately and return to any TK Maxx or Homesense store. We are offering a full refund or a replacement for all affected products.”
Shoppers are also being advised that, for more information on the recall, to contact TJX Europe Customer Service on 01923 473561 or by sending an email to [email protected].
