The Royal Family have suffered a lot of turmoil in recent months, particularly following the health woes of King Charles and Kate Middleton, who have both faced cancer battles.
The disgraced Prince Andrew has only exacerbated the spotlight on ‘the Firm’ with his alleged recent links to a Chinese spy, as tensions within the monarchy are reported to be at an all-time high.
Even for the ex-royals across the pond things aren’t going so smoothly, with Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle‘s kick-start to 2025 being labelled as a ‘train wreck’ already, despite being only days into the new year.
A business that Harry has worked with for years has reportedly been labelled a “toxic train wreck”, where “everyone is uncomfortable and living in fear” and which is a “psychologically unsafe place to work”, according to current and former staffers.
Back in 2021, The Duke of Sussex signed on with BetterUp, a professional coaching and mental health app, as their Chief Impact Officer.
In the years since, being CIO has seen him turning up at BetterUp events, where he is reported to be paid a hefty sum, by way of making speeches and opening up to the audience. According to the Daily Mail, Harry is paid $2 million per year for the role.

However the role hasn’t reportedly panned out as Harry likely expected, instead becoming somewhat of a PR disaster that has been hit by waves of bad publicity and layoffs.
This news comes after the Daily Mail discovered a collective of highly critical comments about BetterUp on the website Glassdoor, where staffers rate employers.
Current and former staffers have claimed that the billion-dollar outfit is run by an “elitist club of leaders” who “have no moral compass”, that it’s “a literal circus” and that “the company is a mess”.
But according to royal commentator Tom Bower, in a chat with MailOnline, Harry is set to stay put at the firm as he said: “I’m sure he won’t walk away because BetterUp is good for his profile and income.”
According to the website, BetterUp has a 2.8 out of five stars rating based on more than 600 reviews, and 35 per cent of people who answered said they’d recommend the job to a friend. However there are also three, four and five star reviews of the firm, with one post stating: “Nothing bad to report right now’. And another said: “It is a great place to work if you are looking to take ownership over your career, are a go-getter and looking to learn more about yourself and how you work.”
Meanwhile Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, released a teaser last week, but viewers have been unimpressed, branding the Duchess of Sussex as ‘tone deaf’ following the trailer’s debut.
The trailer received backlash from viewers after it was released, with American TV personality Meghan McCain particularly criticising the duchess for being completely out of touch.
Netflix describes ‘With Love, Meghan’ as a lifestyle show that combines “practical how-to’s and candid conversation.” Premiering on January 15, the show features eight 30-minute episodes with appearances by actress Mindy Kaling and former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer.
The trailer features Meghan preparing picturesque meals as The Lovin’ Spoonful’s “Do You Believe in Magic?” plays in the background.
At one point, celebrity guest Mindy Kaling says, “This is probably one of the most glamorous moments of my life,” prompting the duchess to burst out laughing.
In another clip of the trailer, Meghan is seen cuddling into Prince Harry.
McCain, who worked for ABC News, Fox News and MSNBC shared a lengthy post to social media writing: “I was originally a Meghan Markle supporter, I thought she was cool, stylish and refreshing. Like the rest of the world my opinion changed when she disrespected the Royal Family,
“Now that she wants to be American again instead of British aristocracy what she seems to forget is Americans want real, raw, uncensored. All of this even in the trailer is highly curated, produced and out of touch.”
