BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – As temperatures continue to drop Monday evening in the Two Virginias, multiple warming shelters are opening up to help people in-need of a warm place to stay.

In Mercer County, the Karen Preservati Center opened at 5:00 Monday as a warming shelter.

In Raleigh County, the Beckley Community United Methodist Church opens at 8:00 p.m. Monday.

McDowell County has at least three warming shelters in Welch, Caretta and Gary. You’re asked to contact the county’s 911 center at its non-emergency line for more information: 304-436-4106

Tazewell County is also asking those in-need of shelter, to call its non-emergency line at (276) 988-0509.

In Greenbrier County, a warming shelter is open in Rainelle as well. You can find more information by calling the county’s non-emergency line at 304-647-791.
