With the winter chill really starting to bite – and showing no sign of letting up – many people across the country are cranking up the heat in their homes. While that makes things much cosier inside, it can lead to a major problem – mould.
Mould can potentially damage your property and cause health problems, so it’s no surprise that more and more people are turning to dehumidifiers to try and combat this. The handy products draw in air before passing it over a cooling coil, which condenses moisture in the air into water and collects it in the device, before they pump dry air back into the room.
One stumbling block for many people, however, is that dehumidifiers don’t usually come cheap. If you are looking to purchase one, then it’s a good idea to get one while it is on sale. One such product which has received rave reviews is the CAIKEZI 2.2l Ultra Quiet Dehumidifier on Amazon.

The “easy to use” dehumidifier is currently available for a knockdown £56.99 after the retail giant slashed 29 percent off its usual £79.99 price. Amazon says CAIKEZI “removes moisture quickly and quietly” and the 2.2-litre water tank provides “ample storage”.
The product works best in rooms under 20 square metres and uses “semiconductor condensation technology to dehumidify 360° efficiently”. It is “ultra quiet” and uses two operation modes: high power and sleep.
It is simple to switch between modes with the “easy to use” control panel and the dehumidifier has a timing function that allows it to work with a specified period of six, eight, or 10 hours.
Customers sang the CAIKEZI 2.2l Ultra Quiet Dehumidifier’s praises, giving it a rating of 4.8 out of five on Amazon from over 1,200 reviews. One user, who hailed it a “good buy”, wrote: “We have an old cottage which is cold and damp during winter but this has taken a great amount of moisture out of it, Just move it around every couple of days. This really does the job.”
Another happy customer said: “Easy to use, not loud, compact so doesn’t take up a lot of space, and easy to move around. It’s been good for controlling humidity especially in my bedroom, removing excess moisture during cold and damp winter days.”
A third person added: “They are great! They have two options, one off set and the other against the surface. Large and well made.”
However, someone else wasn’t too impressed with the efficiency. They wrote: “This does draw water in but doesn’t seem to do much in a day. We have to empty the tank once a week, whereas a cheaper product we replaced with this was being emptied every other day.”
