Park life has helped raise more than £1,300 for a Castle Douglas community project.
Max Pohlendt completed 1,000 laps of the town’s Burghfield Park – a distance of around 450km.
And in the process, he raised more than £1,300 for Stepping Stones Community Larder and Food Bank.
Max began his challenge in the summer but a knee injury stymied his progress.
However, he was able to complete it and handed over the cash just before Christmas.
Max said: “We’ve had fantastic support from the local community, as well as from people further afield, for this fundraiser and I’m most grateful to everyone who donated.
“I injured my knee in September, so the walk took a little longer to complete than planned but we got there in the end.
“At this time when there is so much conflict and war in the world, it just shows what can be achieved when people help each other out of kindness and generosity. Here’s to a better world.
