A young man who died in a horror crash when an out-of-control car ploughed into two houses near Campbeltown has been named by police.
Jamie Green, 25, passed away after the incident on the B842 at Knocknaha, near Stewarton, at around 4pm on Monday. Officers say they were alerted when a red BMW lost control and smashed into two adjoining houses on the road.
Ambulance crews attended but Jamie, who was a passenger in the car, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The 23-year-old driver was taken to hospital for treatment. Jamie’s family have been left completely heartbroken following the horror incident and they have now paid tribute in a statement released through Police Scotland.
They said: “Jamie was our beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend who was taken from us so tragically. Our hearts are truly broken. Jamie had the kindest heart and lived his short life to the fullest. He will be missed by so many. We have been overwhelmed by the support shown and the many kind words that have been shared by those who knew Jamie.”
Sergeant Archie McGuire said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr Green at this difficult time. Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.
“We also ask anyone with dash-cam footage of the area at the time to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 1982 of January 6, 2025.”
