A frantic search is underway to trace a disabled Scots mum who left home on her mobility scooter and never returned.

Gemma Nash, 32, vanished from the MacNamee Gardens area of East Kilbride at around 2.30pm on Tuesday, January 7. She hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

Her worried partner, Christopher Connor, said her last words to him were: “I’ll be back in two days or won’t be back at all.” The much-loved mum is understood to have went in the direction of Glen Esk greenspace on her blue mobility scooter.

She is said to have her phone on her but no cash or bank cards. It is unclear whether Gemma has her medication with her.

Christopher, 38, told our sister title, Glasgow Live: “Since February last year up until September time, she was bed bound. In the house, she is able to walk about for a period of time but needs a mobility scooter or wheelchair for going out.

“Last year, she had multiple visits to hospital due to her mental health and her levels of pain. I have been to Glen Esk and so did the police but she’s not there. I can’t 100% say she has got her medication but it’s not in the house.”

He tearfully added: “Come home please, let us know you’re safe. We love you and need you. Please come home.”

Gemma is 5ft 4 in height and of medium build with long dark auburn hair. She wears a pair of glasses that have a transparent pinky peach frame. She was last seen wearing a beige hoodie with a pair of sunglasses that had an American flag on it, black leggings and black crocs that had pink and fluffy lining.

She also took a large backpack/hiking bag with camping gear, as well as a medium sized black bag with her when she left.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to trace Gemma, who was last seen in the MacNamee Gardens area of Glasgow at around 2.30pm on Tuesday, 7 January.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
