Love Island All Stars’ Gabby Allen and Marcel Sommerville are set for an awkward reunion, seven years after their former relationship came to a messy end.
The ex-couple, who first met on the third season of Love Island in 2017, made it all the way to the final after they fell in love at the Spanish villa.
They went official in their relationship in the outside world too and were together for a whole year until their romance came to an abrupt end in May 2018 after Marcel was unfaithful to the online fitness coach.
It was revealed that the rapper had cheated on Gabby while the pair were on a romantic holiday together in Mexico, with Marcel fessing up to his betrayal.
At the time, Gabby took to Twitter (now known as X) to say: “Thank you to everyone for your kind messages, love and support. It’s been a tough couple of days, I think I might still be in a bit of shock. But I’m sure, in time, I’ll be okay. I have the best family and friends around me. I’m a lucky girl.”
Neither Gabby or Marcel have found luck with love after both ending relationships in 2024.
The fitness guru dated Brandon Myers after meeting him in Ibiza in 2020. She did not publicly address their split but in May last year, but she deleted all snaps of her ex on her her socials and shared a photo captioned ‘choosing myself’ era.
The pair had also unfollowed one another, seemingly confirming speculation they had gone their separate ways. Meanwhile Marcel’s situation is a little more complicated as he is currently in the midst of a divorce from his ex-wife Rebecca Vieira.
The Blazin Squad star met Rebecca in 2020 and the pair tied the knot in 2022, one year after welcoming their son Roman.
However, their relationship also came to an abrupt end after more cheating allegations were brought to light, but this time it was Marcel being deceived.
Claims that Rebecca had cheated on her husband with a US popstar were made and Marcel swiftly deleted all traces of his son’s mother from his social media.
Rebecca later admitted to her infidelity and issued an apology.
News of Marcel’s return to Love Island has somewhat surprised fans, not only because of his ex Gabby’s return to the show, but because he remains legally married to Rebecca.
Speaking of what it will be like to see her unfaithful ex again, Gabby said: “Obviously, there’s the elephant in the room that my ex possibly could be going in, but we haven’t seen each other for six years. It’s been such a long time. Like there’s no hard feelings, like it is what it is.
“I’m basically preparing myself to see if he does come in and then, if he does, I’ll have to cross that bridge when we come to it.”
Speaking about the chances of a possible reunion after his betrayal, she said: “I would actually just like to have a conversation with him and hopefully put it all behind us and just have some sort of friendship. You know, we did go out with each other for a year, and we know each other very well.
“We had such an experience with each other last time, so there’s no reason why we shouldn’t take the positives from it and hopefully be mates of some sort.”
Reflecting on the cheating scandal, she added: “It was a big, betrayal of trust, even though I’m over it now, but it was something that was quite a big thing that happened.
“Would you get back with somebody that did that to you? Honestly, I don’t think I would, I don’t think I will get back with him. I think there is, as I said, there’s room for a friendship there, but I don’t know if I could really ever look at somebody the same way after somebody did that to you. It was so quite savage.”
