Linda Robson shared a touching and personal story about the loss of her baby, disclosing that her unborn child would have been a “little girl” had she survived.
On Wednesday’s Loose Women (January 8th), the actress joined the panel alongside host Christine Lampard, Coleen Nolan and the recently honoured MBE recipient Myleene Klass. The team was applauding Myleene’s achievements and her dedicated advocacy for women’s health issues, particularly focussed on miscarriage and its emotional toll.
The former Hear’Say artist pledged live on the show that, despite the recognition for her considerable community contributions, this was “only the beginning” of her journey to dismantle societal taboos. As her fellow panellists commended Myleene for her resolve and dedication, Linda moved into the limelight with her own sorrowful experience relating to the topic, receiving support from the others in the studio.
Twisting uneasily in her chair, the Birds of A Feather actress gathered herself to recount: “I had two pregnancies with no problems and then when I got pregnant for the third time and something didn’t feel right, right from the very beginning.”
Previously, Linda had spoken about her loss on the show but had not gone into detail. With Myleene beside her, she took the opportunity to open up further about the devastating event, reports the Liverpool Echo.
She continued: “I rang and asked if I could come in and have an MRI.. a scan to see if everything was ok and they said ‘yeah come in’.” The TV personality recounted a harrowing experience from when she attended a scan with her son Louis, a small child at the time. The routine appointment took a shocking turn.
“Then she went to me, ‘I’m just going to go and call somebody, I’m just going to go and call a doctor’ and straight away I knew something was wrong,” the television star recalled. “Anyway they came back and said the baby had died inside of me, they sent me home with a dead baby inside of me and then I had to go back the next day and then they gave me suction to remove….”
Linda continued, revealing another layer of her distress: “They said it would have been a little girl but she had an extra chromosome and so she wouldn’t have survived anyway.”
As Myleene Klass empathetically nodded, the ITV panel member reflected on the confusion and grief she and her then-husband Mark faced, questioning themselves if their actions might have influenced their baby’s fate such as lifting heavy objects or having sex.
“It just wasn’t meant to be and it was very very sad,” Linda soberly concluded.
