Only three episodes in, and this year’s The Traitors series has already brought numerous lies, manipulations, and secrets, with more potentially on the horizon.

Three contestants, Alexander, Fozia, and Jack, were eliminated from the show before they even made it into the castle during the first episode.

Meanwhile Friday’s episode concluded with a surprise twist, featuring a masked individual arriving at the location via horse-drawn carriage, labelled ‘Rail replacement’.

Speculation has been rife that the three ousted contestants may be given a second chance to re-enter the game and compete for the prize money. Prior to Wednesday night’s episode (January 8) on BBC One, body language expert Judi James offered her insights on the potential developments, suggesting that a new Traitor could be crowned.

Speaking on behalf of Paddy Power Games, Judi predicted: “Presumably at least two of the characters that hopped off the train to save the prize money are making their return to the game, which could see Minah and Linda being asked to recruit one as a Traitor.”

Judi explained that if they choose strategically, ex-diplomat Alexander would be the most suitable option. “His body language suggested a capacity for calm, confident, logical thinking plus a natural capacity to lead,” she shared.

“He could be a danger to them as a Faithful, but as a Traitor that calm logic would be exactly what they need right now.”

“Although Fozia may be the sentimental favourite to join the group, her overtly dominant and attention-seeking behaviour on the train could indicate that they may have another strong, yet less controllable, performer on their hands, similar to Armani.”

In the first episode, host Claudia Winkleman selected Armani, Miah, and Linda as the new Traitors. However, in Friday’s episode, Armani was exposed and eliminated after receiving the most votes during the roundtable discussion, reports Wales Online.

Armani was shocked to see fellow Traitor Minah turn against her, as well as her own sister Maia expressing her suspicions.

The night before, Armani had told Minah and Linda that they needed to step up their game, as they weren’t doing enough. However, in a surprising twist, Minah revealed in her confessional that Armani was doing too much and had become a liability for the Traitors.

Viewers at home took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts, with one saying: “Minah is the cutthroat traitor I’ve wanted! #TheTraitorsUK.”

Another commented: “I bet Armani wishes she hadn’t told Minah to be more assertive now. #TheTraitors #TheTraitorsUK.”

The Traitors continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
