An Annan charity is set to upgrade its kitchen equipment thanks to a grant from an estate agent.
Kate’s Kitchen offers hot meals and a warm space for vulnerable and isolated people, as well as a cafe and a meals on wheels service.
And it has now benefitted from Fine and Country Foundation’s Autumn Grant Programme.
Kate’s Kitchen manager, Helen McAnespie, said: “Everyone at Kate’s Kitchen is delighted with the news of the recent donation of £750 from the Fine and Country Foundation as this will support our efforts in getting new kitchen equipment for the project in the new year.
“Support of this kind really does go such a long way in supporting small charities like Kate’s Kitchen. Times are difficult for some people in the current financial climate and we are really grateful for this support so that we can continue to help as many local people as possible.
“We look forward to working with Fine and Country South Scotland in the coming months.”
Kate’s Kitchen was nominated by Fine and Country South Scotland for the vital work the charity plays in uniting the local community and providing key services to vulnerable and isolated individuals.
The branch’s head of sales, Harriet Reid, said: “The work Kate’s Kitchen carries out is amazing and is a lifeline to so many people living in the areas we operate in. We are delighted to support this brilliant cause, and we are planning further fundraising activities in the coming months.”
