Police in Dumfries and Galloway are investigating reports of dangerous driving on one of the region’s main roads.

A probe is underway after claims that the driver of a grey Toyota Land Cruiser narrowly avoided colliding with a lorry on the A75 near Castle Douglas on Tuesday morning.

It was one of a number of incidents police are aware of involving the car and they are now appealing to the public for information.

A post on the Police Scotland Dumfries & Galloway Facebook page read: “Were you on the A75 near Castle Douglas around 9am on Tuesday?

“We’ve had reports of a grey Toyota Land Cruiser driving dangerously, narrowly avoiding a collision with an HGV, amongst other traffic offences.

“Do you have dashcam to review? You may have captured the incident or the vehicle without realising.

“If so, please contact 101, incident 0576 of January 7, 2025.”
