An historic Perthshire hotel has been sold as part of a private deal.
The new owner of the Birnam Hotel & Inn, located in Perth Road, Dunkeld, says that he hopes to breathe new life in to the hotel.
The buyer, Fraser Potter of the nearby Taybank Hotel, in Dunkeld, said: “We’re committed to preserving the charm and warmth that Scottish Highland hospitality is known for but we want to take it in a new direction – something unexpected, refreshing, and full of character.
“This will not be a repeat of The Taybank.”
Mr Potter added: “Our vision for The Birnam Hotel is rooted in Scottish tradition, but reimagined for today’s traveller who seeks something familiar yet entirely new.”
The hotel sale was completed in an off-market private deal.
The Hotel and Leisure division of UK property firm Graham + Sibbald facilitated the sale.

The category B-listed hotel is an imposing Baronial-style property situated opposite the well-know “Beatrix Potter Garden”. It is comprised of 27-bedrooms of varying size over three floors and has a range of dining and lounge areas such as restaurant, bar, function rooms.
The purchase price was undisclosed.
