A Blantyre super slimmer has scored an impressive success after shedding four stones in weight in just five months.
Andi Higgins says his remarkable transformation has given him renewed energy both in his demanding hospitality job and on the pitch as he turns out for Blantyre Soccer Academy.
The 22-year-old praised the support of Slimming World consultant Pauline McGrory and fellow members of the Larkhall group on his weight-loss journey, and says: “I’m loving the results.”
Andi works in the challenging environment of the hospitality industry, saying: “Temptation’s everywhere at work” – and says he was struggling with his weight and found it impacting both his professional and personal life.
He says his initial worries about embarking on the slimming plan quickly dissipated on his first night at the Larkhall session, saying: “The welcome I received from Pauline and the other members was amazing, I knew that first night this could work.
“To my surprise, I didn’t have to miss out on the foods I loved. I’ve lost weight almost every week, and those rewards and shiny stickers in my journal are such a motivator.”
Andi plays for Blantyre Soccer Academy’s para team and is now enjoying the beautiful game more than ever; and his transformation also hasn’t gone unnoticed at work and by family and friends.
He said: “My energy levels have sky-rocketed. The great thing about Slimming World is they encourage you to make changes with your food and your activity, and I am loving the results!
“Colleagues and friends have been so supportive – they’ve all noticed the difference, and it’s given me a real confidence boost.”
A Slimming World spokesperson said: “Andi’s story is a testament to the power of community and support in achieving weight-loss goals.
“Slimming World’s focus on enjoying the foods you love while making healthy choices has clearly resonated with Andi, leading to a remarkable transformation both on and off the pitch.”
