Victoria Beckham has reached out to her daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz, expressing her heartbreak over the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.
The former Spice Girl and now fashion mogul took to Instagram Stories to share a heartfelt message about the ongoing disaster.
She wrote: “Seeing the devastation and loss caused by these wildfires is truly heartbreaking. Los Angeles holds such a special place in our family’s hearts, and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected, especially those who have lose their homes of loved ones.”
“We are immensely grateful to the brave firefighters and first responders who are risking their lives to protect others. Please stay sage and look after each other during this devastating time. Victoria x.”
After sharing her message, Victoria posted a photo with Nicola, who is married to her eldest son Brooklyn Beckham. The two were pictured on a beach at sunset, with Victoria adding: “Happy birthday @nicolaannepeltzbeckham! ! ! Love you so much xxxx.”
Tragically, five people have been confirmed dead in the blaze, according to officials, reports the Mirror.
Over 1,000 homes have been destroyed and more than 70,000 people evacuated. Pacific Palisades, a wealthy LA neighbourhood home to many A-list celebrities including Mandy Moore, Paris Hilton, Anthony Hopkins and Jamie Lee Curtis, has been one of the areas hardest hit, with all these stars losing their homes in the disaster.
Brooklyn has been sharing harrowing images of the wildfires from his swanky $3.8million condo, with flames illuminating the night sky. His marriage to Nicola Peltz in 2022 was not without its drama, amid whispers of a family feud.
Gossip swirled that Nicola had “refused” to don a Victoria Beckham-designed wedding dress, while other chatter suggested Victoria had opted out of creating the gown. However, an insider revealed that the two women chose to bury the hatchet for the sake of family unity.
Last year saw them together at numerous events, including Victoria’s fashion shows. A source confided to OK! magazine about the post-wedding family tensions, saying: “It’s difficult at times because Victoria is used to being the boss and ruling everything – she’s the matriarch of the family.”
“Nicola and Victoria are both very strong characters, so it was either going to end in them losing the relationship Victoria and David have with Brooklyn, or the issues needed to be put to bed to bring them all back together.”
In a show of solidarity, Nicola even channelled her mother-in-law’s iconic style in October, signalling that peace had been restored.
