A woman has been rushed to hospital and then arrested in connectionafter a car smashed in a post office.
Police raced to Church Street in Tranent at around 11.30am on Thursday, January 9, after receiving reports of a one-car crash.
The area was cornered off while cops scoured the scene.
A 38-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment as a result of the incident. She has now been arrested in connection as the police probe continues.
Images from the scene show a black vehicle crashed into the store in the East Lothian town with glass and debris lying across the pavement.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Church Street in Tranent is now fully reopened following a one-vehicle crash which happened around 11.30am on Thursday, 9 January, 2025. Emergency services attended and a 38-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment.
“She has been arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.42am on Thursday, January 9 to reports of a road accident at Bridge Street, Tranent.
“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances and firefighters assisted emergency service partners at a collision involving one vehicle and a building. There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
