Celtic are locked in talks with Sarpsborg over rising winger Sondre Orjasaeter – who is expected to set them back a £7m transfer fee if a deal comes off.
The Hoops were linked with the 21-year-old last month but things have stepped up a gear tonight with Sky Sports now reporting firm talks are underway. It’s claimed they first ‘made contact’ over a month ago over the Norway U21 cap, who scored six and assisted seven in a productive 2023/24 season.
They’ve followed that up late this evening with news that his current club are looking for £7m to sell him after an impressive season, with two years to run on his contract. It’s claimed Fiorentina, Parma and Nice are all keen on Orjasaeter with his current club in a strong position.
He is the profile of player Celtic are looking for, with their lack of depth in the wide areas exposed by a number of recent injuries and absences in that position. They face travelling to Ross County tomorrow with just Yang as the only senior winger available.
