As every week passes, Rangers seem to fall further behind runaway leaders Celtic.
The Ibrox side’s away day woes continued on Thursday as Philippe Clement’s flops stuttered to a 1-1 draw at Dens Park – their fourth successive league game on the road without a win. Incredibly, the Light Blues have picked up just 13 points from 33 away from Govan, a dismal record that has left their title dreams in shatters.
Despite suffering an Old Firm thrashing on January 2, Celtic have stormed 15 points clear and firmly on course for a record-equalling 55th league crown. And Gers could find themselves a whopping 18 behind Brendan Rodgers’ pacesetters before a ball is kicked against St Johnstone this weekend, with Celts facing Ross County 24 hours prior.
It’s clear the pressure is mounting on under-fire Clement, who was booed down the tunnel at Dens Park. And the atmosphere in Govan could turn toxic should Rangers fail to bounce back against the rock-bottom Saints on Sunday.
