Outlander is almost finished with its penultimate series, but when exactly will season seven’s last episode come out?
The Starz and MGM+ series coming back for the second half of series seven in November was bittersweet as it means fans are closer to the show ending with just one more season left to come out.
Nevertheless, many were keen to see how the seventh outing would wrap up with instalments regularly coming out every Friday in the UK and the US.
However, subscribers were disappointed to learn that episode 16 wasn’t going to be dropped this week on Friday, January 10, as expected.
Why did Outlander season seven episode 16 not air this week?
Outlander season seven, episode 16, is not being shown this week thanks to the awards season, which has pushed the romantic period drama back.
In its place, the seventh annual Critics Choice Celebration of Black Cinema and Television was shown, followed by the 2023 film Plane.
When will the Outlander season 7 finale air?
There is no need to worry, though, as the wait for the grand finale won’t be long.
It has been confirmed that Outlander season seven, episode 16, A Hundred Thousand Angels, will be released next Friday, January 17, on Starz and MGM+ via Prime Video in the US and UK, respectively.
This will finally conclude the latest series, which began its seventh season in June 2023. Following the penultimate episode, viewers are desperate to find out how the grand finale will play out.
Following some commotion between the Continental armies at the hospital and retreating British soldiers, Claire Fraser (played by Caitriona Balfe) was caught in the crossfire and shot.
Still conscious, Claire quickly realises that she won’t be able to recover from the wound on her own and needs the help of someone highly skilled, which the man in charge of the Continental field hospital certainly wasn’t.
This is when Denzell Hunter (Joey Phillips) stepped in, having learned extensively about futuristic medical techniques from Claire until now.
Together, they deduced that the bullet was likely lodged in her liver and needed to be removed, with Claire promising Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughsn) that she wouldn’t leave him.
She then fell unconscious, with the episode ending with Denzell ready to carry out Claire’s instructions, but will he be able to save her in time?
Outlander season seven returns for its finale on Friday, January 17, on Starz in the US and MGM+ via Prime Video in the UK.
