Superstar Conor McGregor stunned Dublin football fans as he turn out for his local pub team.

The 36 year old has not fought as a UFC contender since breaking his leg in defeat to Dustin Poirier in 2021. But he looked in fine condition as he lined up for Black Forge FC. The former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight and Lightweight Champion was zipping about the turf in the UCFL Premier Division clash with Harding FC in Ringsend on Saturday afternoon.

Donning the number 11 kit the Irishman was zooming up and down the left-wing with matchgoers keen to snap pics and take videos during the action. McGregor hinted at his appearance earlier on Twitter, posting a picture of some snazzy purple Nike boots with the caption: “Today we ball”.

Conor McGregor is has long had a love affair with Scottish champions Celtic and has long promised to make a visit to Parkhead after raving over a Green Brigade tifo inspired by one of his most famous post-fight interviews. The UFC superstar has been a long-running support of Brendan Rodgers’ side. In recent time he was spotted in training with the club’s shirt and there were even been madcap claims in 2021 he could acquire shares from Celts top dog Dermot Desmond.
